the create new file dialogue doesn't let you enter custom values as the entry boxs are insensitive. this also breaks the resultant sample view (eg: if you choose quadraphonic then you get 4 channels in the sample display but the dbrulers only appear for 2.)

(i fixed a while ago but overlooked the patch. may as well start linking bugs and their resolutions in the trac. so unless a tree falls on my house in the next minute or so, the fix will follow shortly ;)
